Your beloved needs You now.

This is a beautiful hymn that we were introduced to tonight at Evensong. It spoke so directly to my circumstances, I can't see it any other way but God revealing to me that it's all going to be okay.

Even though it may not feel like it right now, God is at work and God provides peace that surpasses all understanding. Although I may fear of what lies ahead because I am facing a path that is swallowed by the dark, God wants me to embrace the beauty of the mystery and trust in Him. As followers of Christ, we can look back at all God has done and believe in our hearts that He will sustain all of our needs just as He has done before!

"Be Still My Soul"

Be still, my soul; the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul; thy best, thy heavenly, Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.

Be still, my soul; thy God doth undertake

Calling ALL prayer warriors!

"Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; do not merely look out for your own personal interest, but also for the interest of others." --Philippians 2:3-4.

"Are any of you suffering hardships? You should pray. Are any of you happy? You should sing praises. Are any of you sick? Proverbs 16 is a good wake-up call to anyone who is looking ahead to a new chapter of life and is shaking in their seat because as of right now, the next chapter is a big question mark on a blank page.

"We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer." (v.1)
"We can make our own plans, but the LORD determines our steps." (v. 9)

I'm also speaking to myself when I say this, but holy cow! What do you need to be worried about?? Yes, you can have timelines with deadlines or meta-spreadsheets of twenty professors from nineteen of the fifty states in attempts to apply for grad school years in advance (oh wait, maybe that's just me....); but bottom line is that God already knows what's going to happen! ISN'T THAT AMAZING!?

So next time anxiety arises from the wrinkles of your frontal lobe, remember Romans 15 and pray this prayer with me: "God, O Source of hope, fill me completely with joy and peace because I trust in You. Overflow me wit…
