Give whatcha got.

"Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions."
--1 John 3:18 (emphasis added).
I've recently had one of those deja vu moments where a topic keeps coming up within the same day or two. It's a freaky type of experience, but I feel like I'm in the process of learning an important lesson:
Thursday--She came into the office while I was working, crying about neck pain. Herfriend was at her side the entire time until someone came in ready to drive her to the hospital. She consoled her and said, "Text me whenyou get back? ... I love you."
That is where the conviction started. The way in which she cared for her friend was inspiring. Am I that way toward my friends? Do I make it obvious to my friends and those around me that I sincerely care?
Saturday--YouVersion's Bible verse of the day was 1 John 3:18.
Since I've arrived at Au Sable Institute, I've met a lot of great people, but it seems like I b…

Here's Happy! :)

I don't like the fact that I've been a Debbie Downer the past couple posts. I want to share God's beauty and splendor amongst all of the evil of this world. Satan can't win a battle that God's already won, and the heavens above and all creation below constantly declare God's glory! :)

God bless! :)

P.S. Apparently the American Toad wants to make a grand entrance because I have no idea how to shrink the picture (it doesn't show up on the page when I go to edit the post. O.o NINJA TOAD!). Ah well, I suppose. :)

How do I respond?

We all fall short to the glory of God, whether we are the shy child in a third-world country or a first-world Christian radio host. Today, I was shocked to hear about the arrest of John Balyo, one of the hosts of WCSG 91.3 in Grand Rapids. A mix of anger and grief overwhelmed me, and the mixed reactions didn't help my feelings any more. A good majority of people just want to put a bullet in his skull for raping a 12-year-old boy, which is completely understandable due to the severity of the issue (and frankly, it's just sickening to think about). The last thing I want to do, though, is to join the bandwagon of saying I want to off him.
Maybe I have a bias due to my history with WCSG and how the radio station has made a great influence on my life (but now that I think about it, Balyo didn't make the station how it was. He was just a voice between songs. It was Christ moving through the songs that changed my life, not him), I don't know. I just feel like it is saying a …

Onomatopoeia: 1, 2, 3!

"If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn't love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal." --1 Corinthians 13:1; NLT.

"And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words." --Mattew 6:7; ESV.

Yeah, it's been a while. I miss having time to blog. Due to sleep deprivation, blog posts between June 10 and August 18 might be a little scatterbrained. Please forgive me in advance.

I will never forget the day when we were at our lock-in at Lincoln Lake Camp, minding our own business singing along, when all of a sudden, the youth pastor stops us in mid-singing to question us: "You are singing these lyrics, but are you really listening to yourself singing those words? Are you truly living out those words? Now sing it again and really mean it."

I often run into this problem: I go to Evensong, lift my hands in praise, bawl like a baby, leav…
