"Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." --1 Corinthans 12:12-14.
Community: according to Merriam-Webster, community is a unified body of individuals sharing common interests, linked together by common policy. It also mentions the fact that there are “various kinds of individuals.”
A Christian can never walk alone. Sure, there will come a time where a believer will be in a sea of non-believers, but there is always a base camp to lean on. The Lord calls us as believers to go and make disciples of all nations. We, as human beings, are wired to be social. Without a community to surround ourselves with, an encouraging body of Christ, how will we be built up when we fall? God is there for us ALWAYS, and He provides us with brothers and sisters of the body to be there for us.
If we are the Body of Christ and have many hands without arms, how will the Body function? If you are a toe, you can’t make up the Body on your own. We need each other to grow off each other through the fellowship that is shared.
It is said that it takes a village to raise a child. The same goes for Christians that need the guidance and spiritual encouragement from others to get them through their turmoil and everyday struggles to make them the strong Christians that God wants them to be.
It isn’t wrong to ask for help. If anything, it shows strength that you are willing to go out of your way to say you need assistance rather than struggling to do it all on your own.
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." --1 Thessalonians 5:11.
